What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tooling Manager position at Midland Recruiters?
Exciting opportunity available in Northwestern Ohio for a Tooling Manager. This position will manage mold building and mold repair. It will be working with outside tooling vendors. The position will have 2 direct reports. Requirements : Must have at least 5 years of experience in Tooling Management or Tooling Engineering. At least 5 years of experience in plastic injection molding is required. Experience working with injection mold tooling and molds is a must. Take full control over repair and welfare of injection molds.
Setup Preventative Maintenance Plans for all molds
Determine Critical Spares Inventory
Responsible for training and performance of Mold Technicians on all shifts
Responsible for managing day shift tool room technicians
Manage all aspects of new tooling purchasing including
DFM Review
Regular monitoring of build schedule
Arranging raw materials for the testing of the tool
Evaluating molded parts and suggesting steel changes to get parts in tolerance
Supervising the installation and qualification of the new tools when they arrive in the plant.
Assist project managers with 3d product design when needed
Assist project managers by doing 3d prints when needed
