Your expertise in billing and coding systems will be essential in facilitating timely reimbursements and maintaining the integrity of patient information.
Responsibilities
1.Review and analyze patient records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems.
2.Prepare and submit accurate medical billing claims to insurance companies and government payers.
3.Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation requirements for accurate coding.
4.Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, billing regulations, and insurance policies to ensure compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and managing accounts receivable is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology as it relates to coding practices.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is essential.
- Certification in Medical Billing or Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
