What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant position at Midlands Living Center?
Summary
The maintenance assistant position performs work of routine maintenance projects including light, entry-level carpentry as directed by the Maintenance Head; performs routine floor cleaning as directed by the Env. Services Manager, assists in the housekeeping/laundry positions as the schedule requires, performs related department work as assigned, under limited supervision.
Essential Functions
- Performs routine maintenance on building interior, exterior, and grounds.
- Performs minor emergency maintenance on building interior, exterior, and grounds.
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations. Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.
- Completes routine maintenance tasks as directed by work order forms.
- Assist with immediate resident maintenance needs.
- Completes minor landscaping on the facility’s grounds
- Early morning snow removal at all exits, walkways, and ramps.
- Assists with resident evacuations, when needed.
- On-call on a rotating basis if there is an emergent need at the facility in the evening and on weekends.
