Job Responsibilities
Responsible for setting up labs autoclaving tools and reagents, growing pure-culture microorganisms, backing up pure-culture microorganisms to cryo beads, streaking agar plates, cleaning glassware, drying glassware, washing pipettes, cleaning / organizing the lab, monitoring inventory, performing instrument maintenance, performing instrument quality controls, preforming instrument calibrations, reconstituting reagents, centrifuging samples, troubleshooting instrument malfunctions, communicating with the manufacturing companies of laboratory analyzers, documenting events, making agar from powdered reagents, pipetting samples, pipetting reagents, properly disposing of biohazardous wastes, phlebotomy, mixing chemicals, and some clerical duties for Medical Laboratory Technology Program.

This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus in the School of Health Care- Medical Lab Technology.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and journey-level technical experience in a related laboratory setting.
Preferred Qualifications
College-level coursework in biology and one year of lab experience in an educational or clinical setting, preferably in microbiology.
Salary : $32,686 - $47,840
