Job Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned campuses to prevent crime, detect violations of law and college regulations. Seek to prevent theft and damage to college property. Enforcement of parking rules / regulations, observe road and parking lot hazards, assist motorists, direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic and reserve parking for special events and meetings on campus.
- Respond to complaints, reports of violations, and requests for assistance. Investigates incidents, gathers evidence, maintains crime scenes and pursues to logical conclusion either of legal process or administrative process.
- Coordinate with private contract security; assist in locking and unlocking buildings, classrooms, labs, and automobiles; assist in fire prevention and other safety hazards; and in locating students in emergency.
- Investigate missing / stolen property, disturbances, and complaints. Seeks out potential criminals, and criminal activity on campus and submit findings in a written report to the supervisor. Apprehends and arrest violators and testifies in court and other legal or administrative proceedings.
- Must perform general police and public service actions such as maintaining order during emergencies; providing first aid, fire prevention, and crisis intervention. Must assist and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies and other police officers. Maintain and develop a constructive image through positive contact with the college community.
- Perform other duties as require by the supervisor.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Must havea high school diploma. Must have (or obtain within 1 year) Class I Law Enforcement certification in accordance with SC Code 23-23-40 of South Carolina Code of Laws as amended. Must be at least 21 years old. Must have & maintain a valid driver’s license and working knowledge of SC laws, rules, and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Class 1 Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with SC Code 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina . Some positions require a commercial driver’s license.
Salary : $43,000 - $47,000
