What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Midlo Contracting?
We are looking for a Part-Time Accountant to join our team with a strong emphasis on the day to day accounting and to oversee all financial procedures of our company. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting along with construction knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Full cycle accounting
- General contracting accounting and month end close process.
- Annual 1099 preparation.
- Reconciliation of multiple accounts
- Preparation, reporting and payment of Sales Tax, Business Personal Property, Franchise and Federal returns.
- Planning and budgeting
- Analyze costs and profits
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
Skills
- Minimum 2 years relevant construction accounting experience.
- Knowledge of construction related documents including contracts and change orders.
- Advanced QuickBooks Online
- Advanced MS Office Suite
- Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
- Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
