Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Marketing Director to lead our marketing strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community engagement and the ability to create memorable experiences that bring our members together. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement annual marketing plans aligned with the Chamber’s objectives.
- Identify target audiences and devise strategies to engage them effectively.
Digital Marketing:
- Manage the Chamber’s online presence, including website content, social media channels, and digital advertising.
- Create engaging content (text, image, video) for social media posts, newsletters, blogs, and press releases.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews/messages and inquiries in a timely manner.
Public Relations:
- Cultivate relationships with local media outlets to secure press coverage for Chamber events and initiatives.
- Correspond with the city’s communications director for promotional events and public relations.
Event Promotion:
- Develop marketing strategies to promote Chamber events, programs, and networking opportunities.
- Collaborate with event organizers to create promotional materials and manage event registration platforms.
- Track and analyze event performance metrics to optimize future marketing efforts.
Member Engagement:
- Develop campaigns to communicate the value of Chamber membership and encourage member participation.
- Collaborate with member businesses to promote their services through Chamber channels.
Brand Management:
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications and marketing materials.
- Ensure adherence to Chamber branding guidelines in all promotional efforts.
Budget Management:
- Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring all expenditures are within budgetary limits.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to maximize value and ROI.
Prepare board reports for social media analytics, website statistics, etc, for monthly board meetings.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of overall chamber office policies, procedures, and practices affecting all programs, activities, and personnel.
- Assist with special events and a variety of administrative duties.
- Assist in the preparation for meetings of committees and other groups assigned.
- Other duties as assigned that may be required to advance the interests of the Chamber and its membership.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in public relations, marketing, and/or communications, preferably within a chamber of commerce or non-profit environment.
- Proven experience in marketing, social media management, and digital communications.
- · Strong communication and public relations skills coupled with the ability to influence others in a positive way.
- Strong understanding of current marketing trends and digital platforms.
- Excellent writing, editing, public relations, presentation, public speaking, problem-solving skills, and managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in marketing software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with occasional hours during weekends or after hours, as needed, based on event schedules.
- Must have access to reliable transportation.
- Must possess time, resource, and project management skills.
- Organize work and manage various details.
- Present a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
- Proficient in CRM software (MC Trade). Willing to learn new software as needed.
