This position is an integral team member for the development, planning and implementation of MyMichigan's fund development program to facilitate the process of raising support for identified present and future needs.
Responsibilities
(50%)*Develops and maintains strong communication links with prospects, constituents, local businesses, medical staff and other health care providers by direct personal contact, telephone, mail or email and by consistently documenting these constituent interactions within the Raiser's Edge donor system for the purposes of prospecting and securing major gifts for the organization. This position's primary responsibility is primarily responsible to the Sault Ste. Marie and Eastern Upper Peninsula market but will be assigned additional prospects as appropriate throughout the health system.
(20%)*Plans and executes direct mail appeals, special fund raising events, and donor recognition events in collaboration with the Corporate Fund Development Team and with the appropriate leaders. Maintains and implements donor recognition publications, postings and wall displays as appropriate.
(20%)*Assures fiscal stewardship through the accuracy of donor records and funds including all items related to donor correspondence, gift acknowledgements, donor update and financial recordkeeping for all gifts secured within the scope of the assigned market.
(10%)*Collaborates with administration and management in assessing needs that could be met through outside support.

Education: Bacherlors Degree
Equivalent Experience: Knowledge of management techniques, practices and structure as normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Science or related field. Master�s degree in similar or related field preferred.

Minimum 5 years successful professional Fund Development experience in all aspects of raising support for a non-profit entity.
Interpersonal and written skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Knowledge of personal computer including data entry, and accounting to establish record keeping systems and generate reports.
Ability to recognize needs and concerns of people and maintain constructive interpersonal relationships.
Ability to work independently, demonstrating problem-solving and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate others.
PHYSIPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering, and feeling.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and stressful situations.
- Overall vision is necessary, including reading and close up work.
- Hearing and speech on the phone as well as in person are necessary.
