Summary : Join our dedicated team as an Emergency Medical Paramedic, where you will provide advanced emergency medical care to the sick and injured, ensuring improved patient outcomes through your skilled interventions.
Responsibilities :
50%) Act independently to create and implement intervention plans for medical and traumatic emergencies, utilizing invasive and non-invasive techniques such as pleural decompression, cricothyrotomy, endotracheal intubation, intravenous access, and cardiac rhythm analysis.
25%) Assess and manage patients during inter-hospital transfers, employing necessary medical equipment to ensure optimal patient care.
25%) Supervise and lead ancillary rescue personnel, collaborating with local police and fire departments to provide effective emergency response.
Other Duties and Responsibilities :
Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes through precise computer reports.
Generate public awareness programs to enhance the perception of emergency medical services.
Evaluate and ensure the safety of emergency equipment and vehicles.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of EMS vehicles and stations, especially after exposure to contaminated substances.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows and engage in ongoing learning opportunities as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Certifications and Licensures :
ACLS : Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 1 month of hire).
BLS : Basic Life Support (required within 1 month of hire).
DMV Record Check
EMT-P : Paramedic (2 years of emergency education and experience required).
PALS : Pediatric Advanced Life Support (required within 12 months of hire).
PHTLS : Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (required within 1 year from July 1, 2023).
Required Education :
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience, Training, and Skills :
2 years of emergency medicine education and experience.
Ability to function independently and handle emergency situations.
Excellent driving skills for emergency vehicles.
Strong interpersonal skills to comfort patients and their families.
Physical / Mental Requirements and Typical Working Conditions :
Ability to work in stressful situations, often involving trauma and grief.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
Overall vision and hearing capability are necessary.
Must be physically able to perform tasks associated with emergency medical care.
Physical Demand Level : Very Heavy—ability to lift and carry significant weight is critical.
