Surgical Technologist Level II

Summary

This position as a Surgical Technologist Level II is crucial in the Operating Room. You will possess and exhibit extensive knowledge of various surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available and functional, preparing sterile instruments correctly, and anticipating the surgeon's needs. You will also help maintain an accurate count of medications, sharps, and instruments while upholding the integrity of the sterile field.

Responsibilities

• 30%) Exhibit a thorough understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to effectively problem-solve related to those procedures. Verify items on the pick lists and ensure that all supplies accounted for are correctly billed to patients.
• 30%) Demonstrate proficiency in the proper use and assembly of equipment and disposables, while also adhering to the standards of cleaning and sterilizing. Ensure that all equipment and instruments are prepared correctly for each surgical procedure.
• 30%) Maintain a sterile environment by vigilantly monitoring the sterile field and promptly recognizing any breaches in technique.
• 10%) Set up the sterile field with instruments efficiently and keep a precise account of all medications, sponges, instruments, and sharps, following established policies.
