Data Center Technician II

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center equipment and infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, networking, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability within the data center environment.

Duties

• Installation and maintenance of communication systems
• Work with various cable that include but are not limited to: twisted pair, coax, power limited tray, stranded, solid conductor low voltage, Category 5, Category 6, single and multi -mode fiber optic cables.
• Install data center infrastructure materials including: racks and cabinets w/ grounding, cable tray and ladder, cable management, copper and fiber networking cable, copper and fiber patch panels and any other materials necessary for data center operations.
• Rack and stack equipment including: network switches and routers, servers, power distribution devices, equipment grounding, patch cable network connections to equipment including copper and fiber, any other equipment necessary for data center operations.
• Install structured wiring with appropriate connectors in support of facilities operations for the corporate offices.
• Pulling, placement, termination, testing, and labeling

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a technical role related to telecommunications.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including Ethernet protocols.
• Ability to work effectively with hand tools for installation and repair tasks.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols in a data center environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
