What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Manager position at MidSouth Utility Group, Inc.?
The yard manager is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of inventory numbers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loading/unloading trucks and moving construction materials (Gravel, sand, etc.)
- Perform daily counts of the materials on the yard to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Ensure proper tagging procedures are being done.
- Resolve inventory issues through analyzing computer data, counts, and conversations with other inventory personnel
- Fleet and fleet maintenance management.
- Yard organization and cleanliness.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiar with operating construction equipment to include using a front end loader, forklift, and skid steer to load/unload vehicles
- Attention to detail.
- Must be able to withstand the elements.
- Must be able to stay on feet for long periods of time.
- Must be able to read, write, and count.
- Strong computer competency
- Experience working with and utilizing Google sheets and documents.
- Must be proficient in speaking English. Bilingual preferred.
- CDL preferred but not mandatory.
Summary
As a Construction Yard Manager, you will oversee the logistics and supply chain operations within the yard, ensuring efficient inventory management and distribution processes. Reporting to the Construction Manager, your role is vital in optimizing transportation management and improving overall processes. Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Google sheets and Gmail.
