Midtown is looking for a professionally minded full-time Staff Accountant to add to our world class organization.
This is a hybrid role currently requiring two in office days per week (3611 N. Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL)

Compensation: Paid hourly, $65,000 -$75,000 when annualized. The actual compensation will depend on experience, and/or additional skills you bring to the table.

The Position
Our Staff Accountants provide accounting support to several remote locations. As an integral part of the team, they have a positive impact on the success of our business.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements through preparation of general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries and monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Review monthly financial statements with management teams, providing variance analysis as needed
- Ensure accounts payable transactions are properly recorded, accurate and complete
- Review expense reports to ensure expenses are accurate, compliant with company policies, adequately documented and properly recorded
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets including proper capitalization and classification of acquisitions, disposals and transfers
- Work cross functionally to ensure daily revenue journal integrations processed successfully
- Prepare, pay and file various taxes and returns with federal, state and local government agencies for multiple states
- Serve as the liaison between club leadership and finance department
- Prepare audit workpapers and assist with the annual external audit
- Complete special projects as requested
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- One to four years of practical accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel required; knowledge of Workday a plus
- Demonstrated ability to determine priorities, manage time to accomplish tasks
- Demonstrate strong analytical abilities while maintaining a broad perspective of the business
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Work effectively in a team environment
