We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care within our clinic. You will assist optometrists in performing eye examinations, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in a medical office environment, along with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Conduct preliminary tests, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage the flow of patients through the clinic efficiently.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
- Utilize retail math to assist with sales of eyewear and optical products.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing inventory.
- Ordering and restocking contact lenses
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to optometry.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Eyepegasus.
- Experience in a pediatric setting is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage clinic operations smoothly.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a patient-focused approach.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
