POSITION SUMMARY
- Responsible for initiating, administering, and maintaining the process for evaluation (Audit), control (SPPAP), monitoring (SIR) and development (C.I.) of Midway Products Group Inc. Suppliers, reporting those performance measurables to Management as well as mentoring, developing and supervising Supplier Quality Engineer(s).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Mentor, supervise, evaluate, and develop Supplier Quality Engineers.
- Monitor interface of Midway Plant and Supplier personnel regarding Supplier APQP activities and issues.
- Identify and provide developmental guidance to Midway Suppliers, as practical.
- Monitor supplier ongoing quality performance and associated corrective actions.
- Summarize, analyze, and report supplier quality system and ongoing performance information to management, and make recommendations.
- Develop and communicate quarterly supplier assessment schedules
- Complete and evaluate SQEs quarterly supplier assessment audits.
- Assist plants in resolving supplier issues when required.
- Monitor SQE performance and assist in the review of Supplier PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process).
- Serve as a back-up to all Management Systems Compliance Manager functions.
- Conduct Midway Plant Internal Quality System Audits, as directed.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Four-year college degree and ASQC Certification (CQE, CQA or CQM) preferred or four to six years experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Preferred 4 years’ experience in a decision making technical, professional or management position.
- Excellent computer, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal office environment, which includes travel to plant / supplier sites; use of personal protection equipment; hazards and conditions typically associated with a manufacturing environment.
