What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Manager position at Midway Products Group?
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to direct and coordinate activities of the Information Technology Dept. and assure that company information technology is adequate to meet the requirements of its users. Also responsible to direct and manage the technical support efforts which include responsibility for all system software, hardware, and database administration.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Consult with management to determine information requirements of management and other users; determine boundaries and priorities of new projects, and discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions
Confer with department heads involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and further define nature of project
Review project feasibility studies
Assign and schedule work or delegate work to subordinate managers and also review work
Interpret policies, purposes, and goals of organization to subordinates
Prepare progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals
Review reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunctions, and maintenance to ascertain costs and plan department operating changes
Analyze department workflow and workers job duties to recommend reorganization or departmental realignment within company
Participate in decisions concerning staffing and promotions within Information Technology Dept.
Direct training of subordinates
Assist staff to diagnose and solve computer equipment problems
May) Participate in technical projects, such as writing equipment specifications or developing computer programs for specified applications
Review state of technology, prepare analysis and recommend system upgrades of migration to different systems as appropriate
