What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Production Supervisor position at Midway Staffing?
Production Supervisor
Location: Batavia, IL
Schedule: 5:30AM - 3:00PM
Pay rate: 30.00
Duties:
- Responsible for the completion of production orders by team members in assigned departments
- Provide assigned teams direction and support, and provide training in proper work methods
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead team members in following all organization and department safety policies and procedures
- Assign production tasks and solicit ideas from team members to improve processes, productivity, and timeliness
- Communicate with team leads and manufacturing engineering on production orders and related issues
- Troubleshoot basic manufacturing problems to determine issues with materials or equipment
- Utilize production whiteboard and ERP system to facilitate production operations and product movement
- Ability to drive forklift as necessary (training will be provided)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Previous CNC machining experience involving multi-axis lathes and mills required
- 3-5 years’ experience as a production supervisor in a CNC machine shop strongly preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing standard practices for quality, efficiency, and safety
- Good analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and understanding and practical application of Microsoft Office and business software programs including ERP systems
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively interact and communicate with all organization levels
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 40 pounds, and adhere to all work safety protocols
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
