Overview
Midwest Airend & Pump, The Compressed Air Professionals has been providing outstanding industrial & mechanical services in the 4-State area for the past two decades.
In order to meet the demand of our growing market, we are now in search of EPA 608 Universal Certificate Technicians to perform repair work, preventative maintenance and install equipment in industrial & manufacturing applications. Applicants will have experience troubleshooting and installing industrial cooling, chilling and drying systems. Applicants must be knowledgeable with safe practices, environmental regulation and an ability to complete jobs thoroughly and on time. Applicants will also be responsible for personal inventory management, proper paperwork and documentation. Applicants must also be excellent in customer service and relationship building, team leadership and possess the necessary skills to complete the tasks expected of them.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems, focusing on freon refrigeration units.
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on air compressors, dryers and related accessories. (rotary screw, reciprocating).
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment to diagnose operating and electrical issues within refrigeration systems.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and component functions.
- Perform welding tasks as necessary for repairs and installations.
- Provide field service support, including responding to emergency calls for system failures.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure all systems are functioning correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance performed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician or similar role in the HVAC/R industry.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable.
- Experience in preventative maintenance or mechanical work is a plus.
- Ability to perform mechanical and electrical tasks related to refrigeration installations and repairs.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a vehicle for field service duties.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
