Job Description:
Job Summary: Incumbent is responsible for making collection’s calls to past due members to protect the assets of the Credit Union.
Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable three (3) year driving record preferred.
Essential Elements of the Job:
- Maintain a positive and professional image of self and the Credit Union.
- Provide accurate, timely, and courteous service to our members by providing efficient assistance in answering questions and providing professional services.
- Ability to work in an environment with high phone call volumes and sometimes stressful situations.
- Assist the department in achieving set goals and maintain adequate telephone call volume as directed by the AVP of Credit Solutions.
- Assist department in preventing or reducing loss due to loan default.
- Process member loan payments by telephone or in person.
- Demonstrates an understanding of advanced collection techniques.
- Ability to utilize the computer to process loans, including reviewing loans and accepting loan payments from members.
- Demonstrate improved knowledge of the use of open-ended questions during collection calls.
- Communicate with delinquent members and document the nature of the problem and attempt to solve the issue.
- Maintain confidentially and adhere to all security measures and policies and procedures of the Credit Union.
Additional Job Requirements:
- Actively participate in seminars/training and workshops as required.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Job Skills and Work Relations:
Incumbent must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette skills, problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Incumbent must possess team-player skills, be innovative, independent thinker and display tact and professionalism in working closely with co-workers, other departments and members.
Incumbent reports directory to the VP of Credit Solutions.
Physical Effort and Working Conditions:
Incumbent performs duties in a standard office environment involving sitting, standing, keyboarding, close vision, speaking clearly, hearing sounds and communication. May be required to lift 25 pounds. Incumbent may work with a desktop computer, printer, copier, calculator, scanner, telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment as needed. Incumbent may occasionally travel to surrounding area branches.
