What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOAN SUPPORT SPECIALIST position at Midwest Bank?
Responsible for providing support to the lending department by conducting Loan functions associated with originated and paid loans; uploading/inputting and funding loans in the core and processing disbursements related to the loans, focusing on accuracy in crediting and debiting the appropriate accounts and maintaining balanced Internal Deposit account registers for the Detroit Lakes loan department. Execute Collateral Perfection and releases. Maintain Ticklers. Process Detroit Lakes paid loans in a consistent, timely manner.
Essential Functions
- Build and maintain CIF’s and loan accounts on the customer information software system (the core).
- Upload/Input loans to the core.
- Disburse loan funds, maintain Customer Fee balance reports and balanced Internal account check registers for the Detroit Lakes branch.
- Record/File and secure all required loan documentation in a timely manner ensuring proper lien perfection.
- Scan any related documentation into the loan, collateral or customer imaging folders.
- Maintain the tickler system to track required customer, loan, and collateral documentation.
- Obtain and maintain collateral insurance documentation ensuring collateral is always insured for applicable loans.
- Order appraisals, title work, flood determinations, and any required documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate and balanced Internal Accounts for the Detroit Lakes loan department.
- Complete Paid Note Procedures in accordance with procedure, laws, and regulations and prepare and submit applicable Satisfactions and Lien releases.
- Provide Loan Checkback services to other Midwest Bank branches.
- Complete Loan Verification requests.
- Prepare HMDA reports for HMDA applicable loans and denials.
- Prepare Adverse Action Notices and HMDA reports for HMDA applicable loan denials.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Operations Officer or Chief Operations Officer.
- Protect the privacy of sensitive business and customer information by following all confidentiality, security, and safeguarding customer information policies and control procedures.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Minimum one-year technical college education in clerical field, financial services, or related program preferred or equivalent education and experience to equal the above. Experience working in a banking environment or Lending department is desirable.
Critical Skills: High attention to detail. Strong clerical and computer skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, regulatory environment.
Other Information
Physical Requirements: The ability to sit for extended periods of time, the ability to walk and manipulate (carry, lift, move) light to medium weights of 10 to 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and computer monitor, operate equipment and read technical information. Must possess valid and current driver’s license and ability to drive motor vehicle.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an area within the bank. May require travel to other branch offices and/or training sites.
