What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Claims Specialist position at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute?
Specific Duties:
- Process insurance collection accounts, correcting and resubmitting claims, or posting necessary adjustments daily.
- Manage daily mail, including refund requests, extensions, and additional information requests.
- Stay current on changes in Insurance, Managed Care, and coding (CPT, ICD, global, and CCI guidelines) through provider newsletters and discussions with provider representatives.
- Address patient inquiries regarding insurance or billing issues.
- Regularly follow up on outstanding issues.
- Prepare and manage outstanding reports.
- Prepare and manage credit balance reports.
- Maintain a log of audits, including pre-payment audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support CIS’s goals and patient care philosophy.
Qualifications for the Position:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Time management capabilities.
- Ability to use and understand computer systems.
- Experience with telephone collections preferred, but not required.
Compensation: Starting Pay $22.25
