Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grant Writer to join our real estate development team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in securing funding for subsidized housing projects through effective grant proposals and response to Request for Proposals (RFP). This position requires a strong background in research, technical writing, and knowledge of real estate development, preferably in subsidized housing development. The successful candidate will have experience with the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) .
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, RFPs and grant opportunities.
- Develop, write, and edit grant proposals that effectively communicate the organization’s goals and programs.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
- Manage the grant application process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records of submitted grants and track their outcomes.
- Assist in the development of program budgets and financial reports as required by funders.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts related to fundraising initiatives.
- Liaise with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and other key stakeholders federally and state-wide related to subsidized housing projects.
- Provide support in contract management and program administration related to funded projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record of securing funding, preferably in subsidized housing development.
- Strong skills in technical writing, editing, and program development.
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies and contract management processes.
- Excellent research abilities to identify relevant funding opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
