Overview:
Midwest Family Services, a start-up organization dedicated to providing quality placement services for children in need, is seeking a dynamic and versatile Executive Director. This role combines strategic leadership with executive administrative support across both Midwest Family Services and Midwest Disability Services LLC.
Ideal candidates will have a background in developmental disabilities (DD) or human services, bringing knowledge and experience that support person-centered care and best practices. This role offers a unique opportunity for someone passionate about fostering positive change to grow into an executive leadership position within the foster care and developmental disabilities sectors.
As the organization grows to support foster homes and collaborates with Child and Family Services (CFS), this role will include increased responsibilities and a corresponding salary adjustment.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Vision:
- Develop and articulate the mission, vision, and strategic direction for Midwest Family Services.
- Oversee the planning and implementation of programs and services supporting children and families.
- Collaborate with leadership across both organizations to establish policies and ensure efficient operations.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide executive-level administrative assistance to both Midwest Family Services and Midwest Disability Services LLC.
- Manage schedules, correspondence, and documentation to ensure smooth operations.
- Support communication and coordination between teams across both organizations.
- Community Engagement and Partnerships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and volunteers.
- Represent the agency in public forums and advocate for the needs of children, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Staff Coordination and Development:
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and supervising staff and volunteers as needed.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and professional work environment.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
- Support program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with relevant experience in developmental disabilities or child welfare services.
OR
- Master’s degree in Business, Social Work, Human Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 3 years of experience in nonprofit management, administrative support, developmental disabilities, or child welfare services.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and maintain confidentiality.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ethical leadership.
