Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated DSP that has a background in working with youth to join our youth care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing and support to transport from school to the day center, and to the youth's home. Helping them achieve their habilitate goals while creating a welcoming and engaging environment is extremely important. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of the youth.
Responsibilities
- daily documentation on all programs
- transportation using agency van
- staying up to date on person centered training and engaging with the changing needs of the youth.
- Assist youth with basic needs
- Maintain an organized line of communication with agency staff and family members.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians
- Uphold rights by fostering an inclusive and respectful atmosphere for the youth with a emphasis on person centered choice.
Skills
- Strong understanding of care plans, particularly with youth
- Experience with high behavioral needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with the youth, staff, and family
- Strong organizational skills.
