We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and proactive Residential Director to oversee these homes and lead our efforts in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.
Position Overview
The Residential Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Midwest Disability Services’ Shared Living Provider Homes. This role involves ensuring that each home is run efficiently, safely, and in accordance with regulatory standards while promoting the well-being of our residents. The Residential Director will collaborate with the clinical team, ensuring that all care plans are implemented effectively while working closely with Shared Living Providers to offer guidance, training, and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operational management of Shared Living Provider Homes, ensuring homes meet regulatory standards and the unique needs of each resident. willingness to coordinate and work with our clinical team to ensure that pariticapnts receive comprehensive, person-centered care and support tailored to their individual needs.
- Supervise and support Shared Living Providers, providing ongoing training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality care is being delivered in alignment with care plans and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized programs, safety plans, and care plans for each participant, ensuring these plans meet residents' goals and needs while promoting independence and personal growth.
- Coordinate with families, caregivers, and other stakeholders to maintain effective communication and a unified approach to participant care.
- Conduct regular visits to Shared Living Provider Homes in accordance with the state DD policy manual guidelines to monitor quality, assess safety, and address any issues that arise.
- Ensure that all homes are well-maintained and that necessary supplies are provided to meet the residents’ needs.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to shared living arrangements and disability services.
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of Shared Living Providers to ensure high standards of care and professionalism.
- Handle any concerns or conflicts related to residents, providers, or staff, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring all documentation related to care plans, incidents, and communications is up to date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- preferred: Bachelor’s degree in social services, human services, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in residential services, preferably within a shared living or disability support setting.
- Strong knowledge of regulations and best practices related to shared living arrangements and disability services.
- Experience in staff supervision, training, and performance management, particularly in a home-based or community-based setting.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals and living as independently as possible.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
