Midwest Express, Inc. (MEI)® has a strong global presence with over 35 years of consolidation center experience. This includes consolidation/deconsolidation, warehousing, automated returnable container handling, kitting, export packaging, parts sequencing for line side delivery and Vendor Managed Inventory services. Additionally, MEI performs sub-assembly and final assembly functions for a number of automotive suppliers.
We are looking for a Technical Specialist 2nd shift who will perform advanced technical/engineering problem solving. This individual will possess excellent knowledge in the discipline and its practical application.
What you will be doing most of the time:
- Responsible for maintaining industrial manufacturing control systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting pneumatics, hydraulic, 24VDC control circuits and mechanical fixtures.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of complex automated equipment including mechanical, pneumatic and electrical control circuits.
- Fully understand and troubleshoot motor control circuits, 24VDC up to 480VDC three phase power distribution and motors.
- Proficient in maintaining and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) – Mitsubishi/Omron/Allen Bradley
- Proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining and/or programming robotic systems desirable.
- Proficient in programming and maintaining industrial vision systems.
- Program and troubleshoot HMIs
- Lead technical aspects of capital project for innovation/automation solutions

What you will need to succeed at MEI:
At a minimum you will need:
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Engineering related field with 2 years of experience working with industrial maintenance control systems or 5 years experience with industrial automation equipment
- Experience with Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi PLCs, , HMIs preferred
- Experience with 24vdc control systems.
- Experience with maintaining or programming robotics (Yaskawa, Fanuc, Motoman preferred)
- Experience in repair and analysis of mechanical and electronic systems
- Experience with industrial vision system applications (Cognex and Keyence a plus)
- Hands on maintenance and troubleshooting experience with knowledge of all aspects of machine troubleshooting, process and machine improvements and installation of new equipment
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, as well as organizational skills
- Ability to interact professionally within the company and with the customer
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
