What are the responsibilities and job description for the Import Agent position at Midwest Express?
IMPORT AGENT
The Import agent will prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import of goods. Process payments on behalf of clients. Coordinate Transportation and Storage of imported goods. Coordinate with customers and US Customs and Border Protection to ensure all legal requirements are met for cargo release.
Monday -Friday
8 AM-5 PM
Paid Weekly
Completive hourly rate.

Job duties include but not limited to:
1. Request or compile necessary import documentation such as customs invoices, cargo control documents, import fee payments, freight releases and customs releases.
2. Monitor and trace the locations of goods being imported
3. Arrange for transportation, warehousing or product distribution of imported products
4. Maintain relationships with customs brokers in other ports to expedite clearing of cargo.
5. Generate quotes for local and regional delivery of imported cargo
6. Maintain files of required documents for customs audit purposes
Required skills and experience
1. Must have experience in Transportation/Logistics or Direct Customs Brokerage Experience.
2. Must have computer skills and knowledge of basic operating systems. Data Entry is required.
Recommended skills

2. Experience in a variety of computer operating systems
3. Good organizational skills
4. Customer Service experience
