Service Technician

Position Overview:

Here at Midwest Exteriors, we specializing in roofing, siding, windows, and door installations. You will be responsible for providing expert repair and maintenance services to our customers. Your primary role will involve diagnosing issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring the overall functionality and durability of our installed products. You will play a crucial part in maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding the company's reputation for quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to service requests, addressing customer inquiries, and maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor during interactions.

2. Repair and Troubleshooting: Perform inspections and diagnose problems related to roofing, siding, windows, and doors. Execute repairs efficiently and effectively, ensuring that all issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction.

3. Maintenance and Upkeep: Conduct routine maintenance checks on installed products, identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively to prevent future complications.

4. Product Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of the home improvement products that we use here at Midwest Exteriors, including roofing systems, siding materials, window types, and door designs. Stay updated on product specifications and advancements.

5. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs performed, and materials used. Provide accurate and thorough reports to assist in tracking service history and inventory management.

6. Quality Assurance: Uphold Midwest Exterior’s commitment to quality workmanship by following established repair standards and best practices. Ensure that repairs are conducted to meet or exceed industry and company standards.

7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while performing repairs. Promote a culture of safety and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

8. Collaboration: Coordinate with the installation teams and other service technicians to ensure seamless service delivery and share knowledge and expertise for continuous improvement.

9. Technical Training: Stay informed about the latest industry trends, repair techniques, and advancements in home improvement products. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

10. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of repair materials and tools. Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure timely restocking and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in home improvement or related fields is a plus.

- Proven experience as a Service Technician in the home improvement industry, with a focus on roofing, siding, windows, or doors repairs.

- Strong knowledge of roofing, siding, window, and door materials, components, and installation methods.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.

- Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting repair activities and maintaining records.

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet service deadlines.

- Familiarity with safety protocols and practices in the home improvement and construction industry.

- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights as required for repairs.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to customer locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
