MFB operates with $70M in assets and an annual organizational operating budget of $17M to distribute over $500M in food and disaster relief boxes to 2,400 agencies.As a faith-based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank, NFP to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition and providing disaster relief. Our vision is to serve those in need with excellence, providing physical and spiritual nourishment.JOB ROLE PURPOSE & SUMMARY : Our creative team is looking for a Graphic Designer / Communications Manager to bring creativity, adaptability, and strong organization to manage a diverse range of design projects. You'll collaborate with teams across 10 domestic and 2 international divisions, helping fight hunger worldwide. This on-site, full-time role offers the opportunity to shape our brand through impactful visual storytelling.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Production : Deliver high-quality designs for newsletters, emails, flyers, event materials, social media graphics and moreDesign & Layout : Apply advanced design principles, focusing on color, imagery, type, and negative space.Templates & Systems : Design and refine templates to improve efficiency and maintain consistency.Content Development : Craft compelling graphics and visual brand stories that effectively communicate our mission and engage audiences.Engaging Visuals : Consistently create persuasive, audience-focused designs ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and brand values.Guide & Advise : Review, recommend, and guide projects to align with design best practices, enhance overall performance, clarity, and audience engagement.Optimize Assets : Prepare design files for print, web, and digital, ensuring technical accuracy.Collaborate Cross-Teams : Work closely with internal stakeholders across divisions to understand goals, gather feedback, and deliver strategic, mission-aligned solutions.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Model MFB's five core values of : Serving Those in Need, Empowering Volunteers, Embracing Our Communities, Working with Integrity, and Executing Through Teamwork.Foster a Christ-centered culture; develop positive relationships and appreciation for volunteers, employees, partner agencies, and community and business contacts.Ensure compliance with all MFB policies, procedures, and rules and with all contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and relevant laws.Recruit, identify, train, and continue to nurture volunteers in support of job role.Network with peers locally and nationally and across the MFB organization.Execute other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.5 years of experience in graphic design (print, packaging, and digital).Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).Strong portfolio showcasing professional, creative work.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.Experience in brand development and visual storytelling.Knowledge of emerging tools, including AI, to enhance workflow and creativity.Willingness to participate in training that may include development of professional skills, education on MFB's policies and procedures, and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.WORK ENVIRONMENT : Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in an office setting; periods of standing and movement in a warehouse and truck dock setting.Minimal travel in-state; out-of-state travel as needed; infrequent evening and weekend obligations.Why Join Our Team?This is more than just a design job-it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
