The MGG Glazier 1 Apprenticeship Program is a 2-year, state-certified certificate program. Apprentices will learn this critical construction trade from experienced master glaziers through a combination of classroom instruction and real-world field work. Participants will all be paired with an experienced mentor and can expect to develop skill in custom metal fabrication, commercial aluminum door and window installation, site safety, commercial construction communications, reading architectural plans and specs, heavy equipment operation, and architectural hardware installation and troubleshooting.
At the successful completion of the program, all apprentices will have received:
- Journeyman Certificate signed by the Governor of Kansas (fully transferrable)
- State-Issued Journeyman Card (fully transferrable)
- Equipment Operator's Certification Card
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Competitive pay starting day 1 with increases throughout the program

Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation and repair of glass in various structures, ensuring adherence to safety standards and guidelines.
- Utilize hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and fitting glass materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with experienced glaziers to learn fabrication techniques and construction site protocols.
- Participate in classroom training sessions to enhance glazing skills and knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting and maneuvering of glass panels while maintaining a safe work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
