Objective/Accountability:
Deliver Midwest Companies products in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Accountable for your own work. Strive for customer satisfaction with prompt and courteous service.
Functions/Corresponding Tasks:
Delivering Products to Customer:
- Make sure all orders are loaded properly and secured with the correct product on board.
- Maintain self and vehicle in neat and professional appearance at all time
- Always be in a clean presentable company uniform when delivering to customers.
- Insure that the truck is always free of debris inside the cab and the box.
- Always remember that you may be the only company representative the customer sees.
- Keep in contact with customers when needed or requested
- Assist customers with the safe and efficient unloading of product
- Drive in a safe, legal and courteous manner
- Notify office of any customer complaints or problem as soon as possible
Comply with DOT Rules and Regulations:
- Drive in a safe manner as a priority.
- Keep equipment in safe operating condition.
- Notify Shipping Supervisor of any maintenance or service required.
- Notify Shipping Supervisor of any traffic tickets or accidents as soon as they occur
- Perform daily pre and post trip inspections
- Maintain daily and exemption log books
- Have a working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, and maintain compliance
- Attend any safety or informational meetings as required
Paperwork;
- Record correct information on time tickets and fuel trip sheets
- Provide office with legible paperwork in a timely manner
Required Skills:
- Verbal Communications – clear, concise, timely, professional.
- Organizational – strong skills needed, the magnitude of paperwork makes it necessary to be well organized and to be able to prioritize tasks.
- Team Player – it is necessary to be involved with multiple departments and personnel. Must deal with both internal and external customers.
- Attitude – must be positive, upbeat and professional. Business is seasonal and work loads will be heavy ‘in season’.
- Excellent safety record and commitment to safe operations
Expectations:
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Work 50 hours per week, including Saturdays during the peak season. Return home daily.
- Strong commitment to customer service and feedback
- Flexibility to adapt when dispatch changes
Education:
- High School diploma or GED
Experience/Prerequisites:
Current CDL license - Class A- Bulk Truck Experience Preferred
Current Medical Card
2 years’ experience driving Class A
Clean CDL driving record for previous four years
