What are the responsibilities and job description for the OTR Tanker Driver (CDL A) position at Midwest Industrial Supply Branding?
Key Accountabilities:
- Required to operate independently over periods of time without direct daily oversight.
- Responsible for safely operating a motor vehicle and transporting products on public highways between various locations, over long distances, including state to state.
- Carefully planning routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
- Promptly reporting any traffic violations, road accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management.
- Notifying the dispatcher and customer of any delay that may affect scheduled delivery times.
- Work with Productions department to arrange pickup of raw materials.
- Obey the state and federal laws while operating Midwest commercial vehicles.
- Maintaining the company truck and trailer, which includes washing and cleaning it, monitoring tire pressure, and performing minor repairs as needed.
- Performing Daily Vehicle Inspections before and after each trip to ensure that all mechanical systems are in good working order.
- Follow maintenance discrepancy protocols to properly communicate equipment issues to the maintenance team.
- Required to properly and timely complete all paperwork, forms, (electronic or otherwise) and other administrative tasks; communicate through email and video conferencing utilizing company provided tablet.
- May be required to apply product at customer sites as dictated by the business need.
- Understand Know and regularly practice firmly adhere to the Midwest’s “10 Rules to Live By” and Midwest Core Values at all times.
- Model safe behavior and ensure that appropriate emphasis is placed on both training and everyday workplace behavior.
- Team focused with ability to always work and communicate professionally with many people, even under stress, and to elevate issues to their proper level.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Licensure/Certifications
- Class A CDL in good standing
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
- At least 3 years driving experience to perform job safely
- Time management and organization skills to stay on schedule
- Ability to work with peers in a team effort
- A well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision
- Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Extensive travel (by truck, airplane, automobile) in the conduct of business is necessary.
- Regular use of the telephone, tablet and/or mobile devices for communication.
Work Environment: Includes an industrial setting with exposure to excessive noise, heavy machinery, environmental issues and/or inclement weather conditions.
