What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Network Technician position at Midwest IT Tech Support?
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure, including fiber optic and low-voltage cabling.
- Conduct site surveys to assess and address technical requirements.
- Configure, test, and optimize network hardware and software for performance and security.
- Provide timely, on-site technical support to resolve network issues.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work orders and network diagrams.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of field network technician experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and configurations (routers, switches, and access points).
- Experience with fiber optic installation, low-voltage systems, and structured cabling is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel locally.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.
Preferred Certifications:
- CompTIA Network
- Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)
- BICSI Installer or equivalent
