The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. Midwest Machinery, Co. is adding an experienced Corporate Sales Manager-Turf, Compact Tractors, and Construction! This position can office out of any of our 30 locations throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin
Purpose:
Directs the Turf Sales Management team for the entire organization, for assigned areas of responsibility, regarding strategy, long-term planning, and sales processes. Responsible for all sales metrics for the Turf Sales Department in assigned areas of responsibility. Consistently exhibits Midwest Machinery Company’s core purpose and values.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the development and deployment of a comprehensive sales strategy and long-term plans which integrates the business’ values, mission, resources, and goals
- Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Sales Department processes across all locations to ensure consistent internal and external customer satisfaction as well as Sales Department efficiencies
- Develops and creates incentive plans for sales team
- Creates annual Sales Department goals (market share, profitability, etc.) for the entire organization, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
- Achieves asset turn goals and oversees new and used complete goods inventory levels
- Monitors competitive activity/products and adjusts business plans and communicates to sales department
- Assists Location Managers in recruiting, training, and retaining sales staff in assigned areas of responsibility
- Works with Corporate Parts and Service Managers to improve parts and service processes and improve customer satisfaction in assigned areas of responsibility
- Works with Marketing Department to develop marketing plan for areas of responsibility
- Direct responsibility for acquiring, maintain and retaining strategic accounts
- Ensures appropriate communication with John Deere personnel
- Leads and manages on-going relationships with key John Deere personnel and other suppliers
- Attends to, and resolves, employee, and inter-departmental issues in a fair and expedient manner
- Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or marketing; 5 years sales management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Multi-unit sales management experience preferred
- Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
- Proven ability to lead and inspire others
- Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to Sales Department operations
- Ability to use Deere sales computer applications and tools
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
- Ability to use a forklift/skid loader
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements:
- Occasional bending and stooping
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Climbing/using ladders occasionally
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Varied work schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
- Must pass a pre-employment background study
