What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor/Porter/Meeting Room Setup position at Midwest Management?
We are looking for a Hotel Janitor/Porter person that will be responsible for the day –to-day maintenance of the Building and Guestrooms. This includes but is not limited to following the Preventative Maintenance program and brand standards, snow removal and salting in winter season and seasonal landscaping. The Maintenance person must be available on weekends and for Call Backs after hours due to emergency, guest issue and/or weather related issues. Must live within 20 miles of the hotel.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical skills, preventative maintenance procedures and reasonable understanding of building equipment and hand tools.
- Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with the other hotel staff and hotel guests.
- Reading and writing abilities are used to document or record all tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive instructions for the day or to read equipment repair manuals.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or holidays.
- Good Customer Service Skills
- Ability to read and understand routine instructions, manuals, job-aids, schedules and be organized.
- Ability to comply with Management Policies and Brand Standards.
- Carrying, lifting, pulling or pushing items weighing up to 60 pounds
- Frequently standing up and moving about the facility
- Set up and tear down event space equipment
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Work independently while maintaining team communication
- Frequently walking up and down stairs
- Own responsiblity of keeping and maintaining event spaces clean, fully stocked and organized
- Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and crawling

Previous experience a plus. Skills that will increase base pay:
- Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Ice Machine maintenance, washer & dryer maintenance, pool/spa filtration system, hotel electronic locks and other hotel equipment maintenance.
Must be legally allowed to work in the United States and provide proof as required by Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Form I-9.
