We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Inspector to oversee contracted natural gas construction crews. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all operations align with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and company requirements.
Position Summary:
The Construction Inspector will monitor natural gas construction projects, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as contractual obligations. This role involves conducting site inspections, reviewing safety measures, and maintaining clear communication between crews, contractors, and management to support safe, high-quality, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day compliance of contracted natural gas construction crews.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations, including OSHA, DOT, and local codes.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to verify safety, quality, and compliance.
- Document and report compliance violations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Monitor and enforce environmental standards, including erosion control and spill prevention.
- Serve as a liaison between contractors, project managers, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide training and guidance to crews on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all construction activities.
- Review construction plans and procedures for alignment with compliance standards.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure project alignment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in construction compliance, natural gas infrastructure, or related field.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for natural gas construction (e.g., OSHA, DOT, EPA).
- Proven experience conducting inspections and managing compliance in construction environments.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with compliance software and reporting tools is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- This position performs tasks that are defined as safety-sensitive and is subject to DOT workplace drug & alcohol testing.
Travel:
- This position will be required to travel throughout out service territory with the construction crew.
- Company Per-Diem for travel related projects
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, Pipeline Compliance, or equivalent.
- Experience with risk management and incident investigation.
- Knowledge of environmental protection standards related to natural gas projects.
- Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI, SCWI, or CPWI V)
- Certified Coating Inspector

Pay: $33.23 - $44.31 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
