Multiple physician office is seeking an experienced and qualified Registered Nurse to work 16-24 hours in the Vascular Access Surgery Center located in Milwaukee, WI. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supports and interprets the philosophy, objectives, mission, values and policies of center to patients, visitors, physicians and personnel.
- Performs pre and post procedure assessments and delivers conscious sedation as prescribed by the Interventional Nephrologist.
- Coordinates with the Interventional Nephrologist the scheduling of patients.
- Responsible for obtaining consent forms and reviewing unit's policies and information with patients before interventional procedure.
- Assumes responsibility for communicating patient problems to physician and implementing and documenting orders.
- Interacts with hospital and acts as a liaison between dialysis units and the hospital in order to ensure continuity of care.
- Assures the transcription and implementation of physician orders.
- Maintains patient records with completeness, appropriateness, and accuracy of documentation.
- Maintains strict confidentially in accordance with HIPAA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all patient care personnel and, in the absence of the supervisor, is responsible for all overall direction and coordination of other support staff.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year of current or recent experience in any of the following settings is strongly preferred: Surgery Center, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Vascular Access, Dialysis.
- EDUCATION
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program.
- Current Wisconsin nursing license, or licensed in another state having requested an endorsement in Wisconsin, or is eligible to take the Wisconsin State Licensing Examination.
- BCLS/ACLS certification
