SUMMARY:
The Legal File Clerk position combines the duties of receptionist, messenger, paralegal, and more conventional file clerk tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Opens and closes files, files documents, and keeps file room orderly.
· Greets visitors and ensure that conference rooms are prepared for meetings.
· Maintains the copier and is responsible for large copying and scanning projects.
· Delivers and retrieves documents from downtown and other locations and performs errands when requested by the attorneys and staff.
· Performs quasi-paralegal tasks such as indexing documents.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or completion of a G.E.D.
· Valid Driver’s License
TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
· Operating knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Operating knowledge of and experience with typical office equipment, such as telephones, copier, fax machine, e-mail, etc.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
· Oral and written communications skills.
· Interpersonal relations skills.
· Excellent phone etiquette
· Attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
