What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist, Outpatient Therapy in the Home position at Midwest Orthopaedics at RUSH?
The Physical Therapist – Provides outpatient quality physical therapy within the patient’s own home and acts as a liaison for physician practice to meet the therapy needs of patients. The position is best suited for an outgoing and self-motivated therapist. The position offers a high level of flexibility as well as autonomy to take ownership of a practice and offers a new standard of post-operative care. The position will afford the therapist to spend one on one time with patients and also the latitude to help grow a new service line.

Responsibilities
- One on one in home therapy for post-operative patients
- Devise and execute detailed treatment plans for post-operative patients
- The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in positive and respectful working relationships.
- The ability to work independently, providing respectful and empathetic patient care at all times.
- Cultivate relationships with patients and the community.
- Provide continuous communication with referring physicians and patient families to ensure a consistent level of care.
- Maintain patient charts, clinical logs and checklists necessary for compliance.
- Set up and monitor home exercise program.
- Provide education specific to diagnosis and symptom management needs.
- Recognizes and responds to priorities in patient care showing initiative and sound judgment.
- Demonstrates willingness to adapt to change in workload and assists with training/orienting others.
- Stays abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
- Other projects as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- Minimum one-year experience in outpatient setting preferred.
Certificates, License, Registrations
- Current State of Illinois Physical Therapy license.
- Current CPR Certification.
- BCLS or ACLS.
- Valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation and required liability insurance to perform home visit

Pay Range: $ 80,000 - $100,000 annualized. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
