Midwest Pediatric Specialists is a privately-owned, pediatric multispecialty practice located in Overland Park, Kansas. Our reputation is based upon providing the highest standard of medical care with a personal touch. We provide comprehensive care for complex medical disorders both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Our areas of subspecialty care include Pediatric Gastroenterology.
We are seeking a passionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team!
This position is a great opportunity to gain professional experience in a private, multispecialty medical office; As a CMA, you will also work a set schedule that allows for work/life balance (i.e., no nights!).
Under general supervision, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will perform a wide variety of medical and clinical support functions in an outpatient clinical setting, including:
- Preparing the patient for their visit by: Obtaining patient medical history, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergies, taking vital signs, and chart preparation
- Assisting with medical examination
- Assisting with in-office procedures
- Administering injections
- Performing routine specialized tests
- Educating and advising patients on specified medical issues (within established parameters)
- Completing records by entering orders as directed by physician into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Maintaining accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in the EMR
- Maintaining stock of medical supplies
- Assisting in other administrative services
Starting wage range: $17 - $19/hour

Education and Experience:
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Experience Preferred
- Experience in a Patient Care Role
