Description
The Business Development- Trailers role will be to sell new and used equipment/products with focus on trailers. The candidate will be responsible to train under the mentorship of the sales management team, and other dealership personnel assigned to mentor specific functions/disciplines.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Complete assigned training in specified timeframes.
Attend all MPG, trailer OEM, and third party training classes as assigned.
Study trailer and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application.
Develop customer relationships.
Develop customer presentations.
Collaborate with fellow employees and suppliers.
Follow up on all details pertaining to orders and transaction paperwork.
Secure customer commitments.
Produce "walk around" marketing videos for all new & used equipment.
Work with marketing to post equipment on publication websites, print media and other promotions.
Perform rental sales and documentation functions.
Attend sales and training meetings.
Attend industry events/open houses/gold outings.
Maintain professional appearance.
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
Prefer four year college degree, but not required.
Computer Skills
Moderate to intermediate computer skills with fundamental computer operations, spreadsheets, word processing, database, e-mail, and CRM software.
Language Skills
The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, and government regulations.
The ability to write reports, and business correspondence.
The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, common inquires, or complaints, from customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
The ability of performing basic math as well as calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, statistics, area, circumference, and volume.
The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting, and possessing an understanding of the appropriate time to speak.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet insurability requirements with the Company's insurance company.
Travel
One to two days per week should be allotted for contacting new and established customers to follow up on appointments that were previously scheduled.
