Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Overview: The Accounts Payable Clerk is a pivotal role responsible for managing the financial transactions occurring with the organization's vendors. This position is crucial for ensuring that invoices are processed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall financial health of the company. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule:

• Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Location: Lincoln, NE (in office)
• Reporting To: Accounting Manager

Compensation:

• Pay Range: Hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vendor Invoice Management: Accurately enter vendor invoices into the accounting system in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding invoice processing.
• Payment Processing: Process payments to vendors, including the preparation of checks and electronic payment transactions. Monitor payment schedules to maintain good relationships with vendors.
• Vendor Records Maintenance: Maintain and update accurate vendor records and transaction histories. Ensure all vendor packets are complete and properly set up in the accounting software to facilitate future transactions.
• Expense Report Distribution: Assist in the distribution and processing of employee expense reports in accordance with company policy.
• Month-End Closing Support: Assist in month-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts payable transactions with the general ledger. Prepare necessary reports for management review.
• Ad Hoc Reporting and Support: Collaborate with the management team to produce special reports as needed. Take on additional duties or special projects as assigned to support the overall accounting team.

Education and Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum of two years of experience in an Accounts Payable or similar financial role.

Education:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.

Background Checks:

• Must be able to pass a background check prior to employment.

Requirements:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for spreadsheet analysis and reporting.
• Experience working with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).

• Strong integrity and adherence to ethical standards in financial reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and vendors.

• Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
• Highly detail-oriented and motivated to ensure accuracy in all financial transactions.
