What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Quality Assurance Inspector (QA Inspector) position at MIDWEST PRECISION?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verifies dimensions of parts against blueprints, using gage blocks, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, and other hand gages.
- Uses other equipment, such as profilometers, air gages, etc. when necessary.
- Inspects products at various stages of production, including in-coming inspection, first piece inspection, and final inspection.
- Conducts receiving and visual inspection of parts received from outside processing (heat treat, nondestructive testing, painting, plating, passivation, coating, etc.)
- Develops and completes final inspection reports using Excel.
- Enters accurate data into E2.
- Documents nonconforming material according to Midwest Precision requirements.
- Compiles First Article Inspection Reports according to AS9102 requirements.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality standards.
- Verifies accuracy of gages and measuring instruments, such as dial indicators, fixed gages, height gages, and functional gages, using master gages and master parts. Examines gages or measuring instruments for wear or adjustment.
- Computes unspecified dimensions and other data, using shop mathematics and trigonometry.
- May use coordinate measuring machine.
- Participates in internal audits.
- Participates in customer, or government, source inspections as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read / interpret drawings
- Experience using various mechanical inspection tools
- Experience performing First piece, In-process and Final Acceptance inspection required
- Familiarity with AS9100 documentation
- Knowledgeable with Word and Excel
