Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated FEMALE Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs, fostering their independence and enhancing their quality of life. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, promoting their well-being, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to a young woman who requires a woman to care for her, fostering their independence and enhancing their quality of life. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in assisting our clients with daily activities, promoting their well-being, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care to person-served
- Monitors and maintains safety and health of individuals
- Administers medication
- Maintains home and needs of client by cooking, cleaning, etc.
- De-escalate interfering behavior
- Participates in activities and social experiences within the community with individuals, arranging appointments and if needed, transportation
- Shares behavioral, health, and program concerns with supervisor
- Support personal hygiene and grooming, including bathing and toileting
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and therapists, to develop individualized care plans.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate, read, and write in English
- Must be comfortable with and willing to assist with client's personal cares .
- Must be comfortable using a computer
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lb
- The ability to successfully pass a background check as determined by the Department of Human Services
- A valid Driver's License, reliable transportation .
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or in memory care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for clients as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals.
