Job Description
1. Identify training needs and train assigned persons to successfully complete job tasks. Identify and implement job modifications, and training methods that will increase the probability of job success for the person receiving services.
2. Ensure that the community employer’s work standards and quality requirements are fully communicated to the person receiving services.
3. Implement individualized service plans as directed. Provide feedback to person served and document progress.
4. Provide job related counseling and support to assigned individuals at their job and in the community as needed.
5. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers. Act as a resource for employers in job modification, reasonable accommodations, alternative communication systems etc. that will increase the likelihood of successful placement and employer satisfaction.
6. Monitor progress of assigned persons served and give input to Job Placement Specialist by observing, case noting, and verbally communicating an individual’s progress in a timely manner.
Qualifications
High School education or equivalent required. Proficient in basic math skills. Must be able to use computer systems including databases, word processing systems and spreadsheets. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to accurately follow written or verbal instructions and complete written reports. Independent problem solving and decision making skills are required. Must be able to work effectively in a variety of settings including community based as well as in center when necessary. Basic knowledge of production efficiency and work direction techniques, particularly working with adults with disabilities.
Must pass DHS and other background checks as required by law and MSS policy. Must be certified in First Aid and CPR or secure certification within 3 months of hire. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable as determined by our insurance company. Must be able to provide own transportation.
Must be able to frequently stand, bend, lift, stoop, and twist to perform the duties of this job. Must be able to use hands/fingers to hold and manipulate objects on a regular basis. Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination as well as the ability to communicate orally and perceive and discriminate sounds.
