Job Description

KeyStaff Professionals is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join a thriving company in the Southwest Suburbs . This role is crucial in managing cost accounting functions, ensuring precise financial reporting, and upholding strong internal controls across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cost accounting and financial oversight within a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee cost accounting processes , ensuring accurate calculation and reporting of material, labor, and overhead costs .
Monitor and analyze inventory transactions , ensuring asset protection, compliance with internal controls, and financial accuracy.
Develop and assess financial forecasts, cost trends, margin analysis, and variance reports to support business decisions.
Collaborate with production, supply chain, and product management teams to ensure accurate material pricing, achieve margin targets, and implement necessary adjustments.
Generate detailed cost reports to guide senior leadership in strategic decision-making.
Contribute to cost management strategies , aligning them with the company’s long-term financial goals.
Identify and drive process improvements in cost accounting, financial reporting, and inventory control systems.
Assist with additional financial projects and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Extensive experience in cost accounting , preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills .

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across various locations.

Experience in project management , meeting deadlines, and handling confidential financial information.

A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvements and cost-saving initiatives .
