Midwest Transit Equipment, Inc. seeks a Vice President of Operations. This position will be based out of Kankakee, IL but will require traveling to all of our locations throughout the Midwest.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Vice President of Operations to oversee day-to-day operations of our nine locations throughout Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri. This position will define and implement operations, strategy, structure, and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the Company Operations Department
  • Collaborates with Executive Leadership to develop and meet company goals while advising and guiding the operations team
  • Collaborates with other Departments to ensure objectives are being met
  • Reviews and approves cost estimates and staffing requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors
  • Work with Director of Service to ensure Company is following all procedures and efficiency times set by Navistar/OEM
  • Understand, communicate, and evaluate all vendors and International Warranty guidelines, approval processes, and policies
  • Review location Monthly/Quarterly Parts Sales
  • Review Service Department Productivity and Efficiency Report
  • Participate in Department Meetings & drive meetings with department managers to keep a “team” focus amongst all employees.
  • Review Prestige Rating with Operations Managers. Develop and implement procedure to ensure each locations retains or improves rating
  • Monitor workload and Overtime accrued by each location.
  • Knowledge of State regulations regarding school buses
  • Communication with Human Resources Manager on all employee issues
  • Develop and Train leaders within the company
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Conduct annual Performance Reviews
  • Travel to MTE locations as needed
  • Attend Conferences and Trade shows

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10 years of dealership experience is required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office – Word, Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop department staff members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
