We are looking for full time Veterinary Technical Supervisor to join our team of board-certified specialists, CVTs, and VAs. This position requires consistency, reliability, accountability, excellent communication skills, and adherence to hospital policy and protocols. Team members should also have a positive, enthusiastic attitude, a profound attention to detail, and work well within a team environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, conscientious, and be able to multi-task. Previous experience in veterinary surgery is desired, but not required.
Team members will be welcomed to a thoughtfully designed state-of-the-art 9000 sq ft surgical and rehab hospital that shares the building with an adjacent 6000 sq ft veterinary urgent care center. It is complete with all the toys and amenities you want and expect to ease workflow and maximize efficiency: state of the art operating suites, digital high-definition radiography (with standing radiograph capability), GE VCT Lightspeed 64 CT scanner, GE LOGIQ S8 ultrasound, IDEXX in-house labs, multiple large ORs, a full complement of surgical instrumentation, large treatment area and workstations, breakroom, large windows for easy line-of-sight, plenty of kennel and run space for patients, and plans for a future gait analysis system and MRI trailer. The large rehabilitation gym will include Aquapaws SS underwater treadmills, a Swimex jetted therapy pool, an Airpaws 200 land treadmill, a ceiling lift and track system for patient mobility assistance, plenty of room for land-based therapies, and generous dedicated rehab kennel and run space. Large expansive windows throughout the hospital create a cheerful environment!
The hospital is equipped with cloud-based software programs such as EzyVet, VetRadar, & Cubex to increase workflow efficiency with critical tools like electronic treatment records, whiteboards, anesthesia monitoring, billing, and communications with clients and RDVMs.

- Conflict Resolution: Collaborates with the Practice Manager (PM) and Human Resource Manager to address employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and terminations.
- Scheduling: Builds and maintains the technical team’s work schedule.
- Call Outs: Serves as the primary contact for technical support employee call-outs.
- Coverage and Support: Partners with leadership to ensure coverage when an employee calls out sick.
- DEA Log Maintenance: Maintain Controlled Substance DEA logs with the Inventory Point Person and Medical Director.
- Inventory: Supports Inventory Point Person and PM with monitoring and purchasing hospital inventory
- Equipment Maintenance: Collaborates with the Practice Manager on coordinating equipment repairs.
- Meeting Participation: Actively participates in and contributes to hospital meetings.
- Punctuality: Is punctual for scheduled shifts.
- Maintain Professionalism: Avoids initiating or participating in gossip, and encourage open, honest communication.
- Positive Work Environment: Contributes to a positive, supportive work environment.
- Skilled Patient Care: Provides skilled, compassionate patient care in accordance with hospital medical policies and procedures.
- History & Physical Exams: Obtains accurate histories, performs physical exams, and creates treatment sheets per the doctor's orders.
- Assist in Procedures: Supports the doctor in various procedures, including patient prep, anesthesia administration, monitoring during surgery and recovery, and fluid administration.
- Medication Administration: Administers injections and oral medications following controlled substance and hospital policies.
- Restraint and Lab Procedures: Assists in patient restraint, draws blood and urine for lab analysis, and maintain accurate test result records.
- Radiographs & Imaging: Takes well positioned radiographs and assists with ultrasound and CT scans.
- Patient Admissions and Discharges: Admits and discharges patients according to the doctor’s orders, ensuring that they are groomed and in a medically appropriate state.
- Client Education: Counsels clients on aspects of animal care, explains medications and procedures, and provides follow-up calls to ensure understanding.
- Surgical Materials: Properly cleans and restock surgical materials and the operating room.
- Inventory Control: Maintains appropriate levels of medical supplies as per the inventory control system.
- Environment Maintenance: Assists in maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment (sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.), including all work areas, break room, kennels, and restrooms.
- Collaboration with Other Teams: Assists other staff members as needed, including the client service team.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) with active license in Wisconsin
- Prior experience working as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)
- Previous Leadership experience
- Previous experience using ezyVet software.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, and move) up to 50 pounds. Lifting higher weights requires requesting assistance from another employee.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
- Occasionally exposed to airborne particles and illness from patients and chemicals related to animal care and office equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
