Welder

Position Type: Full Time 

Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 7am-6pm with an hour lunch 

Description: 

Midwest Welding & Machine has been providing quality welding and fabrication services to the Gallatin Valley for over 80 years. Working on handrails, staircases, industrial repairs, custom projects, prototyping and more, working here will give you a chance to work on a variety of projects day to day. 

Responsibilities: 

• Preform layout, cutting, bending, fitting and welding of components for various projects 
• Repair, assemble and/or modify components for projects 
• Use a variety of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) to join components together 
• Use roller, press, bender and shear to make components 
• Work with drafter(s) and project manager on all projects 
• Assist in general maintenance on all welding and fabricating equipment as needed 
• Follow all safety procedures 
• Keep work area clean and organized 
• Keep accurate records of materials used 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fabrication shop with various types of steel, aluminum and stainless steel 
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and schematics 
• Must be able to lift 50-100lbs 
• Ability to work independently as well as work on a team 
• Ability to stand for 10 hours 
• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Welding certificate preferred 
• Forklift certification preferred 
• Must pass driving background check
