Warehouse Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the logistics, training programs and ensuring inter-branch efficiency. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for maintaining operational standards, mentoring staff and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management, and the ability to optimize warehouse performance while maintaining safety standards.

Warehouse Operations

· Oversees receiving, warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to.

· Maintains and updates warehouse procedure manuals.

· Ensures proper maintenance of equipment, including logistic systems, scanners, forklifts, order pickers, delivery vehicles and other warehouse tools.

· Monitors productivity, efficiency and accuracy reports, ensuring labor hours are justified and aligned with operational needs.

· Collaborates with Branch Manager to plan and implement warehouse layout designs and improvements.

· Schedules and assigns work to employees, following up on results to maintain operational excellence.

· Leads the recruitment, onboarding and training of warehouse staff.

· Mentors and guides warehouse supervisors to achieve performance goals.

· Uses performance management techniques to maintain operational and employee standards.

· Stays updated on industry trends and best practices through workshops, professional publications and networking.

· Facilitates and participates in Total Quality Management (TQM) project teams.

Safety

· Ensures compliance with all governmental and organizational safety policies and procedures.

· Maintains adherence to Federal, State and Local Government regulations, regarding equipment and facilities.

Facilities/Grounds

· Implements and maintains an effective cleaning schedule for warehouse facilities and grounds, applying 5S principles or similar organizational standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· Directly supervises, schedules and evaluates warehouse supervisors and employees to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

· Excellent leadership and team-building skills with the ability to mentor and manage diverse teams.

· Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar leadership role

· Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management and equipment maintenance.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.

· Proficient in performance monitoring and process improvement strategies.

· Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma Required

· Bachelors Degree in Business, Logistics or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Walking, standing and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching. Work indoors and outdoors, work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work on ladders and lift trucks. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
